Quake 2 is yet another first person shooter for ID. The graphics just get better with each one and set a standard for others to follow. Quake 2 looks good even in software mode, and really pleases with 3D support. The single player is your standard kill-fest. They added objectives, but it possible to beat the game without reading them. The weapons are a variety from shotguns to grenades to plasma weapons. The BFG makes a comeback from Doom. And in a nice twist, your unlimited ammo weapon is a laser pistol instead of your standard melee weapon. In multiplayer the weapons seem unbalanced, but it is still fun.
